The project aims to empower IP groups to claim increased political space for participation and decision making in minerals management.
One of the main assistance that the project will provide is the formulation of a Community Royalty Development Plan (CRDP) for Indigenous Peoples Organizations (IPOs) that are currently receiving royalties, with signed MOAs or are currently being engaged by mining companies. The project will shoulder the cost in conducting the CRDP seminar-writeshop for qualified IPOs.
Aside from CRDP Formulation, the project will also aim to form a Coalition among IPOs engaging with Extractive Industries as an end in itself and as preparation for the Coalition’s eventual participation in the Philippine – Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (PH-EITI) activities.
