In partnership with Action Against Hunger (ACF), the Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. (FDAI) facilitates the conduct of 4-Day Seminar-Workshops on Disaster Preparedness at Barangay Caimpugan, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur. The activity forms part of a long-term project dubbed as Improving Resilience of KNH Partners to Disasters Phase 2,ย a project that is funded by Kindernohilfe Germany/Philippines.
Conducted on October 15 โ 18, 2019, the activity is aimed at:
- Reviewing and updating the disaster risk information or data pertaining to the barangay;
- Assessing the current disaster preparedness and response mechanisms and practices of the barangay;
- Contributing to the development or enhancement of the barangay contingency plan with focus on the following components:
- Early Warning System
- Evacuation Plan
- Evacuation Center Management
- Barangay DRRMCouncil Structure
- Understanding the basic concepts and processes in resilient livelihood; and
- Developing an action plan, and assign a working group that will complete the following:
- Drafting of the Contingency Plan and leading the process of its adoption by the Barangay Council;
- Drafting of the proposal for a Small-Scale Resilient Livelihood initiative and leading the implementation processes.
Barangay Officials, MLGU San Francisco Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officials, MLGU San Francisco Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officials, ย Barangay Health Workers, Self-Help Group officers and members, among others, actively participate in the Seminar-Workshops that are facilitated by Genaro G. Sanchez, Action Against Hunger Project Officer and by FDAI Staff.
