(FDAI) reaches out to selected Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) in Agusan del Sur as it broadens its Child Sexual Abuse Prevention campaign.<\/p>\n<p>For the past years, FDAI, together with the Agusan del Sur Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, the Philippine National Police &#8211; Agusan del Sur\u00a0Provincial Office,\u00a0has this campaign\u00a0to prevent child sexual abuse. The campaign\u00a0has been\u00a0concentrated in Agusan Marsh Barangays, which are all covered by a project dubbed as Self-Help Approach &#8211;\u00a0Children-Focused Community Development (SHA-CFCD), which is implemented by FDAI and funded by KNH. Activities in the past years only involved members of the FDAI-organized Self-Help Groups and school children. For this year, FDAI targets the involvement of the BCPCs as they are the primary organizations tasked to prevent child sexual abuse in the localities.<\/p>\n<p>The first activity in furtherance of the above-mentioned \u00a0is the Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Orientation among members of BCPC, which is aimed at discussing the basics of CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE PREVENTION, the Statistics of Child Abuse in Agusan del Sur and the Salient feature of Republic Act No.\u00a09262, AN ACT DEFINING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN, PROVIDING FOR PROTECTIVE MEASURES FOR VICTIMS, PRESCRIBING PENALTIES THEREFORE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES\u00a0and \u00a0Republic Act\u00a07610, AN ACT PROVIDING FOR STRONGER DETERRENCE AND SPECIAL PROTECTION AGAINST CHILD ABUSE, EXPLOITATION AND DISCRIMINATION, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.<\/p>\n<p>The activity serves as the first step for the strengthening of the BCPCs that FDAI will also facilitate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some participants of the CSAP Orientation.
