Project Description<\/h2>\n

The Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. (FDAI) has forged a partnership with Bantay Kita, a coalition of organizations pushing for transparency and accountability in the extractive industry. Bantay Kita is affiliated with Publish What You Pay Coalition. The organization\u2019s vision is to attain the incorporation of transparency and accountability mechanisms into the socio-political and economic institutions that pertain to the extractive industries.<\/p>\n

For Agusan del Sur, FDAI and Bantay Kita implement a project dubbed as Empowering The IP Community Toward Enhanced Stewardship Of Its Resources, having as partner CAMMPACAMM Tribal Council in the Municipality of Rosario, the Southway College of Technology in the Municipality of San Francisco, and the Agusan del Sur State College of Science and Technology in the Municipality of Bunawan.<\/p>\n

Project Objectives<\/h2>\n

  1. To improve the capacity of IP community to monitor extractive industry operation within their ancestral domain;<\/li>\n
  2. To facilitate the development of a transparency and accountability mechanism that will enhance community participation in the creation and implementation of development plans impacting the IP\u2019s ancestral domain; and<\/li>\n
  3. To enhance knowledge management.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
